There Must Always Be an Offer or Offers

Yesterday I got an email from one of our long-time members about something he realized he should do – then did it – before he ended a day-long class he put on this past weekend. I’ll share what he did in a moment. But, here’s the big lesson.

If you’ve never attended one of our monthly Fast-Start Workshops, I’ll share with you one of our most important lessons taught at the very beginning of the presentation. It’s Dan Kennedy’s ‘No BS Rules for Direct Marketing Success.’

Why is this important? Because most (more…)

Entrepreneurs: Meet Money On Its Path

NEW ECONOMY WEALTH Strategies
by Craig Valine & Dan Kennedy

“When You Meet Money On Its Path, It Means You’re Walking In The Right Direction”

“Motion beats meditation.” - Gary Halbert

In the midst of one of his dark periods, when the news was filled with stories of his financial demise, Donald Trump talks about feeling like just staying hidden at home but instead strapping on his tuxedo and going to an important gala – because he knew he could not possibly gain by staying home. At a time, some 30 years or so ago, when I was captain of a company everyone in its industry knew to be (more…)

Are You Disgusted Like Me?

Don’t hate me, but I’m a Boston Celtics fan. I’m a born-and-bred Bostonian and well, I’ve got to support my team.

The series, so far, has been a roller coaster of emotions – for both teams, right?

But, last night, as I watched Game 6, I had to turn off the TV in the 4th Quarter with just 11 minutes left because I was disgusted with the way the Celtics were playing. Poor performance. Poor results. I was very disgusted.

I’m hoping that my team was disgusted with their performance as well. They haven’t (more…)

Have You Done These Essential Marketing Tasks?

Let me ask you specifically how you’ve benefited from your association with GKIC (If you’re not a member of GKIC, these are great questions to ask yourself as well):

  • “Have you made more money this year than last?” If not, why not?
  • “Have you attracted more new customers or clients this year than last?” If not, why not?
  • “Have you moved beyond pushing products/services to creating powerful customer experiences?” If not, (more…)

Do You Know the Cub Scout Motto?

Do you know what the Cub Scout Motto is?

Mini-me sure does.

Whether you know it or not, I’m a Cub Scout Leader for my son’s Bear Cub Den. His year as ‘Bear’ is quickly coming to an end, and this past weekend it was imperative that we completed his Bear tasks in order for him to move on to Webelos next year.

Well, we did it! But, not without great angst and frustration.  Mini-me got frustrated so many times when he had to learn a specific skill or adopt a specific attitude about something. But, (more…)

Are You a Gazelle or Lion?

Dan Kennedy shared this in the January ’09 “No BS Marketing Letter”. I thought it was appropriate to expand on it, as you’ll read below:

Are You a Gazelle or Lion?

“Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up knowing it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed.  Every morning a lion wakes up knowing it must outwit and outrun (at least) the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. (more…)

Marketing 101: Use Words That Sell

Sometimes changing one word in a headline can multiply results.

As one of the best copywriters in the world, here are a few tips Dan recommends:

  • Descriptive words matter. A single word can make a bland picture vivid, deliver a punch instead of a tap, convey a benefit instead of a feature.
  • The same thing said with different words has different impact—and may appeal to (more…)
