The Most Important Question(s)

Unique Selling PropositionOver the years, I’ve found that most business owners I meet are either in business because they know a certain skill or craft really well and they want to share it with the world… or they just want to be in business for themselves because of the freedom they hope it will bring, and will sell almost anything to do that.

For the both categories of business owners, there’s really no research or thought about “WHY” a customer would want what they have to offer. The one’s that do think about this are very far and few between.

What most business owners don’t understand is that they are NOT just in the business they think they’re in – selling products or services, etc. … but, rather they are in the business of marketing their product or service. Because, quite frankly, without marketing to attract new customers and to bring back old one’s, you really have NO business. (more…)

Make Time For What’s Important

001_24I’ve been working hard this month. How about you?

When I’m on a mission, my every thought is consumed with how I can accomplish a goal in the fastest time possible. If I have to work late, I do it. If I can’t sleep, I get up and do the work until I get tired again. If I’m doing something else with my family or friends, and my mind is going-going-going… I remain consumed with accomplishing my goal.

Being determined to accomplish your worthwhile and important goals is critical to success. But, at what cost? (more…)
